On a cloudy Saturday in July, RAF St Mawgan opened its gates to a vibrant celebration of community and camaraderie as it hosted MawganFest, a returning mini music festival designed especially for station personnel, their families and friends.
The event offered a lively, fun-filled day, with something for all ages to enjoy. Attendees explored children’s entertainment, got creative in arts and crafts workshops and participated in outdoor yoga sessions. A tempting variety of food and drink stalls kept everyone refreshed, including the free icecreams donated by the British Forces Broadcasting System, while an impressive model aircraft display by the stations resident Model Aircraft Club, paid homage to the base’s aviation heritage.
Live music performances brought a festival atmosphere to the day with lawn games, friendly sporting activities and even a crowd-pleasing dog show adding to the entertainment. The relaxed setting allowed families to unwind and enjoy each other’s company in a welcoming environment.
MawganFest was held in recognition of the dedication and hard work of RAF St Mawgan’s personnel and to thank their loved ones for the unwavering support they provide. The day also served as an opportunity to strengthen bonds within the whole force community building new friendships and reinforcing existing partnerships that are vital to the station’s success.
