RAF St Mawgan’s Resource & Engagement Manager, Tim Turner, scooped the ‘Civil Servant of the Year’ award at the 2 Group Awards Dinner on 20 March. Accompanied to the dinner at RAF Northolt by our Station Commander, Wing Commander Helen Simpson, Tim was absolutely delighted, if somewhat shocked, to have been recognised at such a high-profile event. Receiving his award from former Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Hillier GCB CBE DFC MA, proved a very special moment in Tim’s lengthy career at RAF St Mawgan.

Awarded to the individual or team within the Civil Service cohort who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to serving the public interest and has made a positive impact on 2 Group activity, this really is a phenomenal accolade and so well deserved.
Tim has excelled himself in this challenging role, consistently exceeding expectations and proactively developing opportunities for our Civil Servants to integrate even further with military colleagues across all aspects of Station life. His sunny disposition and infectious enthusiasm never fail to lift our spirits – huge congratulations Tim from all of us at Team St Mawgan.
