The MYRAFAC application can be used on a range of devices.

Project APPIVATE aimed to generate an in-house Mobile Application Development Team to help grow capability and technical expertise across the RAF.

The intent was for the team to develop applications rapidly that could meet the evolving needs of the RAF.

From humble beginnings as a small group of willing and able volunteers, Project APPIVATE grew into Astra Appivate; the RAF’s High Code Software Capability whose mission is:

"to build bespoke software that enables our aviators in the delivery of air power."

The dedicated software development team have already delivered their first public application: MyRAFAC, which supports the RAF Air Cadets and paves the way for many other applications.

MyRAFAC is a mobile application that replaces the F3822 log and identity book used by RAF Air Cadets. The application, which can be downloaded from both iOS and Android app stores, enables them to access up-to-date information on their activities and achievements while serving with the Cadets. A phenomenal achievement for the team, within days of its launch it was featured in the top ten free downloads on the Apply Store.

As the team grows its internal capabilities to support web and mobile applications, cloud service, and other areas, Astra Appivate will continue to grow develop as the RAF’s own Software House.
