The Unit
Formed in 1982 to re-open Stanley Airfield post the Falklands Conflict, TacATC has evolved in conjunction with new aircraft platforms and capabilities to deliver a Theatre Entry and Battlespace Management capability.
Compromised of a small cadre of highly experienced and motivated controllers, TacATC will routinely be deployed globally at short notice to provide a Temporary Landing Zone and Reconnaissance and Visual Flight Rules ATC capability in the most austere and remote locations.
The unit is located at RAF Brize Norton.
