Historic Aircraft Flight forms at RAF Biggin Hill with 1 Hurricane (LF363) and 3 PR Mk XIX Spitfires (PM631, PS853 and PS915) to establish what is now known as the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight based at RAF Coningsby. The BBMF is a living memorial to the aircrews of World War II, providing inspirational air displays at events across the UK, and maintains 6 Spitfires; 2 Hurricanes; 1 Lancaster; one Dakota; and 2 Chipmunks.
