The RAF Cosford band in Shropshire has its roots in the No1 School of Technical Training, now known as the Defence College of Technical Training (DCTT). RAF Cosford is also home to the popular RAF Museum and the world-renowned Cosford Airshow and the band has played at both.
Cosford has taken part in all major events including Virginia Tattoo Basel Tattoo Edinburgh Tattoo, as well as various local events including the Cosford Air Show. The band is a mixture of serving reserve and volunteers encompassing all levels of playing ability.
The band meets for practice on Sunday evenings 5-7.30pm. Training is given to people of all levels, from beginners to seasoned players. Members under 16 must have parental/guardian permission to join and can participate in local events only.
