1917 Halton first used as a military training base by the Army during World War I.
1919 RAF Halton established, marking the beginning of its association with the Royal Air Force.
1920s-1930’s Apprentice wings at RAF Halton form pipe bands to accompany their daily routines.
1961 Halton Pipe Band participates in the Lord Mayor’s Parade in London.
1966 Pipes and Drums of No.1 School of Technical Training perform at the Royal Tournament at Earl’s Court.
1977 First appearance of RAF Halton Pipes and Drums in Highland dress.
2003 The band performs internationally, including a concert in Bordeaux, France.
2004 RAF Pipes and Drums debut the Royal Air Force tartan at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
2018 RAF Halton members join the RAF Massed Pipes and Drums for the RAF 100 Parade on the Mall and at Buckingham Palace.
