History

1986 - Formed as a dedicated Volunteer Reserves Intelligence Unit, 7006 Flight, at RAF High Wycombe. Initially to provide linguists tailored to the needs of the Cold War.

1997 - Became a squadron when the RAF Volunteer Reserve and Royal Auxiliary Air Force were amalgamated
