On handover of the station, Wing Commander Best said:

"It has been my great privilege to be Station Commander of RAF Boulmer. I am very proud of all we have achieved during my tenure; it has truly been a team effort from the fantastic personnel we have here across the station, resident units, and remote sites. I give my sincerest thanks to everyone who has supported me, and I wish Wing Commander Redhead every success as he takes the reins".

We extend our sincere thanks to Wing Commander Best for her leadership and contributions during her posting. We wish her every success in her future career and hope she enjoys some well-earned time with her family.

Wing Commander Joe Redhead returns to the station following his recent posting at the UK’s Permanent Joint Headquarters, where he led Information Operations, integrating information effects into operational planning and contingency strategies. We’re pleased to welcome him back after a six-year absence.

On taking command of RAF Boulmer, Wing Commander Redhead said:

"Wing Commander Best has led the station through many changes and ensured support to the station’s operational output has remained a constant throughout. I now have the honour of commanding this important unit, maintaining support to our personnel and their families, to enable them to keep our skies safe 24/7".
