Members of the Swedish Airforce have visited Royal Air Force Brize Norton as part of a NATO study visit to learn more about airfield operations at a United Kingdom main operating base.

The trip involved Swedish Airforce personnel shadowing their RAF counterparts in similar roles to gain a better understanding of how RAF Brize Norton’s airfield is managed and runs with 3 fleets of large air transport aircraft. The two-day visit developed ties between the RAF and one of NATO’s newest member nations, strengthening relationships and the ability to work together.

Captain Anna Obrovac, of the Swedish Airforce said:
“This has been a very valuable visit where we were able to meet several counterparts and share mutual methods of working. It has given us the opportunity to discuss both similarities and differences in the way we operate our airfields, and we are looking forward to further collaboration in the future.”

Flight Lieutenant Aidan, Operations, RAF Brize Norton said:
“It was a pleasure to welcome personnel from the Swedish Airforce as one of NATO’s newest members to RAF Brize Norton. It has been a fantastic opportunity for interoperability between our two air forces on how to operate a busy frontline airfield. We look forward to a continued partnership as we keep working together.”
