In a formal handover on 22 August 2025, Group Captain Lee assumed command of No 3 Flying Training School at RAF Cranwell.
The outgoing Commandant, Group Captain Bews commented:
It has been a privilege to command Number 3 Flying Training School, and to work alongside the awesome team at Cranwell and Barkston. Delivering flying training is not straightforward but all of the team here make it look easy thanks to their hard work and ability to work together. I would like to thank everyone for helping train the next generation. I wish my successor, 3 FTS, the Directorate of Flying Training, the UKMFTS Programme, and RAF Cranwell a successful future.
