Look at Life Programme

Twenty-five Year 10 students gained a unique insight into life in the Royal Air Force during RAF Cranwell's first Look at Life Programme of the year.

Over three days, students from across the region and beyond, experienced a taste of RAF life, learning about the wide range of careers and opportunities available within the Service.  For the first time, the programme also included two Year 12 students serving as Young Leaders.   As well as taking part in the activities, they developed valuable leadership and communication skills by supporting and mentoring the younger students throughout the week.

The students threw themselves into the programme of activities, including PT sessions, visits to Air Traffic Control, the RAF Police, the RAF Regiment and 3 Flying Training School.  As well as High Ropes and Low Ropes.  A highlight for many was the opportunity to speak directly with RAF trainees, hearing first-hand about their experiences and what life in the RAF is really like. The week also included a memorable drill session with the legendary Sgt Nauyokas!

From developing new skills and building confidence to learning about potential future careers, the programme proved to be a fantastic experience for everyone involved.
