MPs Receive Insight Into Leeming Life

The Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme was devised to give MPs an insight into military life that would not otherwise be available to them, enabling them to make informed contributions to defence debates. We welcomed some of its latest participants from across parties and the UK for a look around RAF Leeming's diverse units.

The Group had a tour and brief at 11 Sqn QEAF to understand its contribution to the training of tomorrow's typhoon pilots. They met with personnel from 90 Signals Unit to hear about the latest in cyber defence, and 2 Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems about their contribution to air defence.

Lunch with the Mountain Rescue team was followed into an insight into innovation and sustainability trials with the RAF Innovation team (RAFX). A busy day for all, but one we hope gave insight and enjoyable memories.
