The RAF Waddington Aircraft Viewing Enclosure (The WAVE) serves as a safety-first, aircraft viewing site open to the public in Lincolnshire.
RAF Waddington Station Commander Group Captain Holland has enabled the installation of a new sign which visually marks the entrance to The Wave.
“This is a fantastic facility and location that offers visitors and our aircraft enthusiast community the best opportunity to view the aircraft operating out of RAF Waddington, including those that are visiting us as part of the RAF’s exercise programme."

“Clearly safety remains paramount when people are enjoying this facility, so I ask that visitors stay extremely vigilant of the safety risks that exist in the vicinity such as the jet efflux, FOD, and the high levels of fast-moving road traffic vehicles on the A15."
RAF Waddington host various multinational exercises and is the new home of the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team (The Red Arrows) making for a great site to visit.
The Wave provides the public with a safe and accessible off-road parking and viewing enclosure, as well as being a critical touchpoint for security, operations, and media coverage.
"If at any point you have any safety concerns, please contact Waddington Air Traffic Control on 01522 727451.”
The Waddington Development Team (WDT) and Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) worked successfully in collaboration to reopen The Wave with suitable facilities for the aircraft loving public to use.
The Waddington Aircraft Viewing Enclosure was reopened to the public early in 2023.
