Spring Nursery is a 78-place setting offering full time and part time childcare to children aged 3 months-5 years. As well as childcare in the holidays for children aged 5years – 12years.

Meals: An on-site kitchen provides home cooked meals and snacks for the children, catering for allergies, food intolerances and the weaning process for young children. Seasonal menus provide nutritional and well-balanced meals. Menus are displayed in the main corridor for all parents to view, showing full details of the upcoming weeks meals.

Children can attend full time or part time. Our opening times are as follows:

7:30am to 6pm Monday to Friday. 

Fees: Fees are paid monthly in advance on the 1st day of each calendar month.  Please ask for a price list with full details of session costs.

Housing

The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) is part of the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and has overall responsibility for providing service families with homes.  The have given Pinnacle a contract to run the National Service Centre, which is where you call regarding any issues with your home or about home allocations. 

To apply for Service Family Accommodation you can complete an application on the e-1132 system, available on the Defence Intranet.  When you submit your application, the e-1132 system will show you available homes that match your entitlement and can be prepared in time for your move.  From here you can select your top three preference. If you have any special considerations that we should know about, or require Additional Needs/Disability Adaptations (ANDA) to your home, please include these in your application.

Health and welfare

MEDICAL CENTRE

The Medical Centre on the Station is for military personnel only. Dependants of personnel should register with a local GP.

Details of local practices can be obtained from the Community Support Information Officer. 

Dental Centre

The Dental Centre on the Station is for military personnel only. Dependants of personnel should register with a local dental practice.

SSAFA PS&SWS RAF

RAF Personal Support & Social Work Service (SSAFA)

SSAFA’s Personal Support & Social Work Service (RAF PS&SWS) is contracted by the RAF to provide welfare support to all serving personnel (regular and reserves) and their families. Our team of Welfare Officers are located on stations and remotely throughout the UK.

Our service is confidential and independent from the Chain of Command. Our team will support you with all of life’s challenges, providing practical advice and a listening ear. We can work with you to put a plan of action in place, making sure you have all the tools you need to take control of your situation. 

Our service can support you with a range of issues including addiction & dependency, child support, financial, housing, mental health, personal support, physical health and relationships.

We can provide in-person and remote support - you can get in contact with us in the way and time that best suits you.

Sports

STATION GYM

Membership of the gym is open to whole force and dependants of those employed at the unit.

To become a member, personnel must attend an induction briefing. Once completed customers will be issued with a membership card and a proximity card.  For further information on induction dates, times and membership fees, contact the Gym Admin Office on 01480 52451 x7300

Opening times: Monday to Sunday, 24 hours a day (by swipe card).

SPORTS PITCHES AND COURTS

Contact the Gym to find out about other sports facilities on the Station.

Social

BARS AND CAFÉS

The Skyways' and Pavilions' Coffee Shops on Station are open to dependants of Serving personnel.  You will need to ask your partner to apply for a Station ID pass in order for you to use them unaccompanied. 

Children and young people

RAF Wyton Youth provision is delivered through the Ben Club and Airplay projects. Ben Club is for 5 to 7 year olds and Airplay is for young people aged 8-16 year olds. 

These clubs do not run in the school holidays but a holiday programme is offered to all members.

Other facilities

RAF Wyton has a dedicated Community Support Team made up of a Community Development Officer (CDO), Unit Housing Liaison Officer (UHLO), a Community Support Information Officer (CSIO) and a Community Support Assistant (CSA).  Team members deliver Community Support activities, deployment support as well as supporting and signposting Service families to agencies and organisations that can help.
