Historic processes for analysing mission data and intelligence are labour intensive and inefficient.

Project IGNIS AVIS aims to securely digitise Mission Reports so that data can be processed swiftly and efficiently.  Mission Reports are a standardised reporting format used to concisely record and circulate data.

The exploitation of data from Mission Reports require the retrieval of emails, Word and PDF documents, and the manual reading of fields, followed by the extraction of the data into a different format for further analysis.   At times, this can be a labour-intensive task, with personnel working shifts to manually process the required data.  Embracing technological advances and removing the reliance on human-processing, the application being trialled by Project IGNIS AVIS can achieve the required data exploitation in less than 30 seconds.

The technological demonstration phase has been successfully completed and the Project IGNIS AVIS team are now working on a proposal that could see the Mission Reports tool brought into 'business as usual' for the RAF.
