Using extended reality and artificial intelligence, Project IMMERSIVE aims to create a virtual reality operations room.
It hopes to enable key personnel from all three services to join a single online location from wherever they are in the world to oversee joint operations. This online joint operations centre will increase interoperability across the services and will also enable us to remove any potential vulnerability from a single, physical command and control centre.
Project IMMERSIVE is currently in the trial phase and we are looking to ensure that all the military services can access the system. This will also increase our ability to interact with other agencies around government to ensure Defence can seamlessly deliver in the air, on land and at sea.
