This is where we will be providing up to date links through to Government Guidelines on what everybody needs to be aware of.

The Government defines ‘key workers’ as those contributing to public safety and national security as:

‘Police and support staff, Ministry of Defence civilians, contractor and armed forces personnel (those critical to the delivery of key defence and national security outputs and essential to the response to the COVID-19 pandemic), fire and rescue service employees (including support staff), National Crime Agency staff, those maintaining border security, prison and probation staff and other national security roles, including those overseas.’

Working from Home during Lockdown is always the default option, unless you are required to attend your place of duty to carry out essential tasks. Your Chain of Command should be kept informed at all times and will provide further direction and guidance as required. The Permanent Secretary and Chief of Defence Staff’s announcement regarding Working from Home is definitive:

We want to be absolutely clear: whether you are military or civilian, you must work from home unless you have a critical requirement to attend your workplace.
