Number 1 Air Mobility Wing is a high readiness Air Combat Service Support Unit, capable of providing early entry air movements support, both in the UK and Overseas. Representing the deployable arm of the Logistics (Movements) trade, it comprises the Operational Support Squadron (OSS) and Mobile Air Movements Squadron (MAMS).  Providing dedicated manpower to meet Defence taskings worldwide, both contingent and enduring.

“I am pleased and privileged to assume command of 1AMW, a unit that has a proud history of success on global operations that extends back to 1966, when it was first formed at RAF Abingdon. Today, our people continue to serve whenever and wherever they are needed in support of air movements operations.”
