RAF Leeming is celebrating its 85th birthday in 2025, with events and celebrations set to last through to October.

With World War II origins under No 4 Group Bomber Command, Royal Canadian Air Force, RAF Leeming has spent decades training future pilots, and boasted one of the Royal Air Force's largest Cold War redevelopments. Now home to RAF communications, the preferred site for a plethora of exercises and at the cutting edge of Counter-Unmanned Air Systems, the station has a huge amount to celebrate.

So far, RAF Leeming's special year has been celebrated with an all-ranks dining in night and 85th themed rowing and running events. There was even a competition to pull one of the Station's Fire Engines 85 metres in front of SHQ.

Special videos following RAF Leeming's history through the decades are being released on the Station's Facebook and Instagram channels. Be sure to look out for them!
